Lizzo made her triumphant return to the stage with her first live show in nearly two years, performing in Los Angeles to an enthusiastic crowd.

The Grammy-winning artist opened up about overcoming a “dark depression” following lawsuits and harassment allegations from former dancers and a stylist.

During her performance at LA’s The Wiltern, Lizzo revealed that she had reached a point where she “didn’t want to live anymore.” However, she credited the love and support of her fans with helping her through the difficult period.

Legal Battles and Allegations

In 2023, Lizzo faced multiple legal challenges, including a lawsuit from three former dancers who accused her of sexual harassment, fat-shaming, and creating a hostile work environment. The pop star denied the allegations, and her legal team has requested the court dismiss the case, which is set for a jury trial.

Additionally, Lizzo was involved in a separate legal battle with a stylist, Asha Daniels, who claimed she experienced racial and sexual harassment, a hostile work environment, and unpaid overtime while on tour. In December 2024, a federal judge ruled that Daniels could not sue Lizzo as an individual, though her company, Big Grrrl Big Touring, remains a defendant.

A Turning Point at a Concert

Lizzo shared a pivotal moment during her performance, recounting how a stranger at a concert she attended gave her a “life-saving” hug and words of encouragement. “Then it was 10 people, then 100… then 1,000… then it was 10,000 people showering me with love and support,” she said in a TikTok video.

The singer urged others struggling with depression to “reach out,” acknowledging how difficult it can be to seek help. Her message resonated with fans, many of whom have supported her through the legal and personal challenges she has faced.

New Music and Upcoming Shows

Despite the controversies, Lizzo is making a strong comeback with two new singles and a series of live performances. Following her LA show, she has gigs planned in New York and Minneapolis this month, signaling her return to the spotlight.

Known for hits like “Truth Hurts” and “About Damn Time”, Lizzo continues to inspire fans with her resilience and authenticity. Her comeback has become a new chapter in her career, as she focuses on her music and reconnecting with her audience.
