The Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, had on Friday, December 23, approved a Christmas bonus of N10,000 for all pensioners in the state.
The governor, through a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Taiwo Adisa, remarked that the action was taken to help retired workers, who had served the state meritoriously, to have a good Yuletide.
The bonus, according to the statement, is coming days after the state government paid December 2022 salaries to the workers and pensions to the pensioners.
The government had additionally approved the payment of the 13th month’s salary, which Makinde said would be paid on or before the end of the year.

“His Excellency wishes that all retirees will enjoy a Merry Christmas. The bonus is a token of His Excellency’s appreciation and assistance to the state’s aged and retired citizens, who had served the state meritoriously for decades.”
