Police officials have arrested Yunusa Inuwa, a meat butcher for reportedly stabbing his neighbor, Rabiu Mohammed to death, over a broken plate in Yola, Adamawa State.
Inuwa had according to reports, attacked and murdered Mohammed by stabbing him in the neck for breaking his junior brother’s wife’s crockery.
As stated by the police in court on Tuesday, November 1, the incident took place around the Tafida neighborhood in the Yola North LGA, Adamawa.
It was said that on the day the crime was committed, Inuwa had come home from his business place to meet his brother’s wife crying over the broken plate. He then immediately promised to deal with the perpetrator.
Justice Ishaku Haliru of High IV has directed for the suspect’s remand after pleading “not guilty” to the statement and particulars of the offense as read. Additionally, the prosecuting counsel had applied for a date to bring in witnesses to prove his case.
Meanwhile, The case has been adjourned to November 15, 2022, for a hearing.
