The English football association has charged Manchester United with inappropriate conduct for gathering around the referee, Craig Pawson during their game with Newcastle on Sunday.
The game which ended in a goalless draw, was very tough as United tried all means to register a goal, when Ronaldo’s goal which would have put United in the lead was disallowed, United players angrily gathered around their referee to protest against his decision at Old Trafford. Apparently, the referee recorded this event in his report on the match.
According to the charge United ” Failed to ensure its players conducted themselves in an orderly fashion”
Pawson disallowed Ronaldo’s goal because Ronaldo hurriedly stole the ball from Newcastle’s goalkeeper and netted it into the goal when Newcastle had not taken their free kick.
Erik Ten Hag also went to talk to Pawson about the issue, after the final whistle, and Pawson said that he doesn’t have anything to say about the issue.
“I don’t have a comment. I shared that with them. Everyone has seen it.”
Manchester United ranks fifth in the premier league with 16 points. The table is currently headed by Arsenal with 27, closely trailed by Manchester City with 23 points. The season has been all that rough for United, considering that they started the season on a wrong foot, they have been able to stabilize themselves a bit, even though there’s still alot to work on in the team.
