It is reported by a couple of British media websites that Manchester United are progressing towards the signing of Brazilian national Matheus Cunha. They have activated the £62.5 million clause in his contract with Wolves.
Following a horrible season where they dropped all the way down to 15th in the Premier League and lost the Europa League final to Tottenham, the Red Devils have quickly started the process of rebuilding their squad.
As they will not be participating in European football next season, the club is in the process of making the team stronger under the new boss Ruben Amorim.
The news came out that Cunha’s fee is going to be split into three parts with the payment period being two years after the unsuccessful attempt of a five-year installment scheme by Wolves. The forward had a remarkable season and scored 17 goals, not enough to keep Wolves from getting relegated as they just finished below United on goal difference.
