Rashford, who impressed on loan at Aston Villa last season, is keen on a move to Barcelona this summer. Vlahovic, 27, who arrived at Villa in January looking to rediscover their form and confidence, has caught the eye of several clubs ahead of a potential permanent move.
According to Sport, Rashford has instructed his representatives to pursue a potential switch to Barcelona “at all costs”, despite the Catalan club’s continuing precarious financial situation. It is believed that the Germany international likes of the 25-year-old, but Barcelona are focused on different priorities in the election at present, and unless the club’s financial situation significantly improves, it is unlikely they will secure his services.
Rashford has been linked with a permanent exit from Manchester United this summer — with Villa able to bring him in for £40 million. But BBC Sport claim the forward has dismissed a move to any London-based team, taking Arsenal and Chelsea off the table. He is also adamant about joining a Champions League club and refuses a swap deal.
But with a £350,000-a-week wage, any potential move would likely come with the prospect of a pay cut; Rashford has been involved in three goals and five assists for Unai Emery at Villa Park. A decision is not expected until mid-June.
