Maryland Governor Wes Moore has extended a warm welcome to K-pop group BTS as the South Korean superstars prepare to perform in Baltimore as part of their ongoing world tour.
Moore shared a roughly 30-second video message on social media ahead of the group’s two-night stop at M&T Bank Stadium. The video featured Korean subtitles, allowing BTS fans, popularly known as ARMY, to follow the governor’s message.
In his address, Moore praised the seven members for their ability to bring people together despite differences in culture and language.
“The seven members share one goal: to overcome the barriers of different cultures, regions, and languages and unite the world as one,” he said.
The governor then mentioned the members individually, naming RM, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, V and Jungkook.
He concluded his message by directly addressing the group’s supporters in Baltimore.
“Welcome to Baltimore. And to all ARMY, shout out loud,” Moore added.
BTS are scheduled to perform at M&T Bank Stadium, home of the Baltimore Ravens, on August 10 and 11.
The Baltimore shows form part of the group’s large-scale ‘ARIRANG’ world tour, which marks their return to stadium performances as a complete seven-member lineup.
The tour features performances across several regions, with the Baltimore stop serving as one of the major dates on the North American leg.
The inclusion of Korean subtitles in Moore’s video also highlighted the effort to connect directly with BTS’ global fanbase, rather than limiting the message to local concertgoers.
BTS will take the stage at M&T Bank Stadium on August 10 and 11.
