Max Verstappen secured his fourth Formula 1 world championship in Las Vegas, coming home fifth to remain mathematically out of reach in the standings. The 27-year-old Red Bull driver becomes only the sixth in the sport’s history to claim at least four titles, joining legends like Alain Prost, Sebastian Vettel, Juan Manuel Fangio, Michael Schumacher, and Lewis Hamilton.
Impressively, it made Verstappen the second-youngest driver to achieve this feat after Vettel, who also won four championships with Red Bull. This season’s title race was more competitive, with Lando Norris and McLaren emerging as the challenger. But a mid-season surge in McLaren’s development made their car the fastest on the grid.
Verstappen’s consistency, strategic brilliance, and the odd stroke of fortune kept him comfortably ahead. Despite Norris’s best efforts and moments of brilliance, errors from his team and Verstappen’s unyielding dominance ensured the Red Bull star retained his crown.
With a fifth-place finish in Las Vegas, just ahead of Norris, the deal was sealed. The race win went to Mercedes’ George Russell, but all eyes were on Verstappen as the latest triumph he made surely secures his status as one of the sport’s all-time greats. At only 27 years, this Dutchman’s reign is far from over it seems.
