The ex-Real Madrid and Arsenal player, Mesut Ozil has announced his retirement from the football world.
The 34-year-old had spent eight years at the Emirates Stadium after a £42.5million contract switch to North London from Spanish giants Real Madrid in 2013.
Ozil made the revelation via his official Twitter account (@M10) on Wednesday, March 22.
Before this, he had won four FA Cup titles for Arsenal before joining Fenerbahce in January 2021.
On his Twitter account, he described his football journey as an amazing one filled with unforgettable moments and emotions and he also thanked the clubs he had played for as well as his coaches.
