The MFM Mountain Top Chorale, associated with the Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries Worldwide, has achieved a remarkable feat by winning two gold medals at the 2024 World Choir Games held in Auckland, New Zealand. This prestigious event, recognized as the largest choral competition globally, brought together over 11,000 singers from more than 30 countries between July 10 and July 20.
The choir’s triumph was proudly announced by Dr. Daniel Olukoya, the General Overseer of MFM, who shared his joy and pride on Facebook. Dr. Olukoya congratulated the Mountain Top Chorale for their outstanding performance and for representing Nigeria on an international platform. He highlighted their participation in the competition and expressed his satisfaction with their success.
The choir’s performances included the “Ekiti Medley,” a piece composed by Dr. Olukoya and arranged by Seun Owoaje, along with several other compositions that showcased their talent and versatility. According to the results from the World Choir Games, the MFM Mountain Top Chorale secured gold medals in two categories: Category C19 (Contemporary Music Mixed Voices) and Category C22 (Spiritual).
In addition to their gold medals, the choir has also qualified to participate in future major events organized by INTERKULTUR, including the World Choir Games’ Champions Competition and the World Choir Championships’ Champions Round, for the next five years. This qualification underscores the choir’s exceptional talent and their potential to continue making a significant impact on the global choral music scene.
