Movie Producer Kayode Peters Passes Away in Canada, Family Confirms

Veteran Nigerian film and stage producer Kayode Peters Adewumi has died in Toronto, Canada.

His passing was confirmed in a statement posted on his official Instagram page on Saturday, June 28, 2025. The family revealed that he died peacefully after battling a prolonged illness.

“It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved, Kayode Peters Adewumi, who passed on peacefully this morning June 28, 2025, in Toronto, Canada,” the post read.

The tribute described Peters as a cherished son, husband, father, brother, and friend, as well as a talented filmmaker, actor, and producer. While his work inspired many, the family highlighted that it was his kindness, warmth, and generosity that truly defined him.

“He touched countless lives, both on and off the screen, and will be deeply missed,” the message added.

The Adewumi family has asked for privacy as they mourn their loss and make funeral arrangements. They noted that more details would be shared in due course.
