The music video of Logos Olori’s Jaye Lo, the newest signee of Davido Music Worldwide, (DMW), has been met with a lot of criticism, particularly by Muslims who found the content offensive and disrespectful to their religion.
The harshly critiqued music video is the debut single from the artist and it was released under the DMW label on Friday, July 21.
In a short clip that DMW chief, Davido, had shared on Twitter, people were seen praying and dancing in front of a mosque.
This tweet had not gone down well with Muslim faithful who had quickly asked him to take down the video and proffer an apology as the music video’s content was highly offensive to the Islamic religion.
Bashir Ahmad, the former aide to the ex-president, Muhammadu Buhari, had tweeted,
“There are varied reasons why every Muslim finds this (music video) content absolutely disrespectful, hurtful and offensive @davido. No Muslim will find this honourable or acceptable.”
At at the time of filing this report, Davido has not responded to the criticisms from fans telling him to take down the music video.
Muslims across the country have however, decided to boycott watching/streaming the music video.
