Plateau State Governor Caleb Mutfwang has suspended two commissioners and two other appointed officials for unexplained reasons. The suspension was issued on Tuesday evening and takes immediate effect.
Gyang Bere, the Governor’s Director of Press and Public Affairs, issued the following statement: “The Governor of Plateau State, Caleb Mutfwang, has approved the immediate suspension of four critical officers.
Hon. Chrysanthus Dawam, Commissioner of Budget and Economic Planning, and Hon. Jamila Tukur, Commissioner of Tourism, Culture, and Hospitality, are among the authorities who are impacted.
Hon. Moses Sule, the liaison officer for the Mikang Constituency, and Hon. Dio Lamul, the special adviser on rural development, are also impacted. The suspensions start working right away.
In Essence
The suspension of four key officials by Governor Caleb Mutfwang of Plateau State raises several questions, particularly because the reasons for these suspensions have not been disclosed.
Given that these officials hold significant positions ranging from budget and economic planning to tourism and rural development their sudden removal suggests that something critical prompted this decision.
There could be multiple interpretations of this action. On one hand, it might signal an internal shake-up aimed at correcting perceived inefficiencies, mismanagement, or misconduct.
The governor could be sending a strong message that his administration will not tolerate any form of negligence or corruption, especially in crucial sectors like economic planning and rural development. If this is the case, the suspensions could be part of a broader effort to ensure that the state’s governance is aligned with his administration’s objectives and standards.
