After the shocking arrest of American rap mogul, Diddy over sex trafficking and racketeering, his mother, Janice Combs, has finally reacted in fierce protection over the allegations leveled against her son. In a statement given through her attorney, Ms. Combs passionately fought against such accusations, citing that her son was already being judged based on a distorted narrative, hence denying his character and further damaging his reputation.

Ms. Combs acknowledged that Diddy had done wrongs in his life and begged people to stop demonizing him as if they heard his story. She alluded to trying times that included Cassie Ventura, his ex-girlfriend, and confessed that her son had lied about what happened. “It’s heartbreaking to see my son judged not for the truth, but for a narrative created from lies,” she said, speaking of footage that surfaced showing Diddy involved in an altercation with Ventura at a hotel.

Ms. Combs said the decision by Diddy’s legal team to settle a lawsuit brought by Mr. Ventura rather than fight him in court was now being used as ammunition by the federal government to paint him as guilty. “Sometimes, the truth and a lie become so closely intertwined that it becomes terrifying to admit one part of the story”, she said, suggesting that certain facts had been twisted to fit a damaging agenda by the media.

As the world seems to continue to weigh in on Diddy’s troubles with the law, his mother closed her statement with a call-out regarding how quickly people have jumped at the opportunity to bring her son down. She feels that part of the motives behind some of these accusations are financially driven, adding into the already complicated case at hand. “It is truly agonizing to watch the world turn against my son so quickly and easily over lies and misconceptions”, she added, still defending her son by saying Diddy is not a monster.
