Tennis icon and devoted Real Madrid supporter Rafael Nadal has urged Vinicius Junior to “recognize who holds authority” and demonstrate respect for coach Xabi Alonso amidst their growing conflict, which remains a major story, in Spain.
Vinicius was left out of the lineup in Madrid’s unexpected 2–2 tie with Elche lengthening the team’s streak without a victory to three games and increasing pressure on Alonso’s unconventional strategic decisions. In a conversation with Movistar+ Nadal called for composure and responsibility from the winger. “I believe this can be settled through conversation “ he stated. “Vini has to recognize who holds the leadership and show respect for that authority well as, for the club. Those reactions that don’t sit well can be adjusted through understanding and a readiness to get better.”
The 14-time French Open winner mentioned that Vinicius needs to initiate the change himself and link up with the support system.
The ongoing issues has create an uncertainty over Vinicius Jr’s future at the Bernabéu. Contract renewal talks that started in January have stalled as the 25-year-old refuses to negotiate as tensions with Alonso continues, With just nine goals and assist this season in 17 matches, his on-field productivity has also come under serious scrutiny.
