NEMA Confirms the Death of 4 People in the Recent Lagos Building Collapse

The country’s National Emergency Management Agency -NEMA, on Friday night, confirmed the death of four individuals in the three-story building that collapsed in Mushin area, Lagos.

The NEMA Zonal Coordinator in the South-West, Mr. Ibrahim Farinloye, who confirmed this development to journalists, noted that the victims were two men and two women respectively.

He then went on to add that no one was rescued alive from the rubble of the collapsed building. The state government had previously before this, ordered an investigation, into the precise cause of the building collapse.

The Lagos state’s Commissioner for Physical Planning and Urban Development, Mr. Omotayo Bamgbose-Martins, remarked on this at the scene of the accident. The commissioner had also ordered the demolition of an adjoining building in the area.

The Lagos State Building Control Agency -LASBCA and the Lagos State Materials Testing Laboratory have been given orders by the commissioner to unravel the cause of the incident.
