Newcastle United Fc: The resurgence begins!

If you think money cannot buy you success in modern football, you obviously have not met Chelsea FC and Manchester City Fc both in England.

Both were in the shadows of their city counterparts, Manchester United and Arsenal FC, for long spells without any silverware to show for it, but the moment they got bought-over by rich owners, their stories changed and they took over the league even extending it to the European stage.

But guess what? A new rich kid, sorry, I mean a new rich club is on the blocks and it’s not among the traditional “top six” teams in the land, in fact, they were not in the top half of the league standing in the last campaign, but all that is about to change. Make welcome NEWCASTLE FC.

They are now the richest club in English football following their three hundred million pounds takes over, and they are not wasting any moment to bare their fangs already.

A Saudi Arabia backed consortium, Public Investment Fund (PIF) has completed the takeover of the club from former controversial owner, Mike Ashley, whose tenure was ravaged by fans protests amid poor performances both on and off the field of play. He sold his majority shares of the club which has opened the door for the new management.

Fans were seen jubilating outside the club’s stadium when news of the takeover was announced; most of them are now optimistic and confident that the club and its fans are heading for greater heights and silverware.

And if by recent history is anything to reckon with, then rightly so, they have seen fellow premier league minors grow to become heavy weights and consistent title challengers when they got bought over by rich owners with a war chest worth billions. To think theirs is even worth far more is more than enough reason to jubilate.

St. James’s Park has not tasted a title in decades neither has it experienced a European night in decades but all that might be a thing of the past. The club is currently being managed by Steve Bruce, but changes are imminent and it might start from him and then to buying super stars that can deliver the title.

The resurgence is here, finally!
