Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban are no longer together after almost 20 years of marriage.
The actress and the country music star, who exchanged vows in Sydney back in June 2006, have chosen to go their separate ways.
The split was first reported by TMZ and later confirmed by outlets including BBC and People.
Insiders suggest the couple had been living apart since the start of the summer. Reports also indicate that Urban, 57, was the one who pushed for the breakup, while Kidman, 58, wanted to keep fighting for the relationship.
“She didn’t want this. She has been fighting to save the marriage,” a source told BBC.
Kidman and Urban’s love story began in 2005 when they met at the G’Day USA Gala in Los Angeles.
Over time, they became one of Hollywood’s most admired pairs, often opening up about their family and sharing affectionate moments at public events. They have two daughters together, Sunday Rose and Faith Margaret.
This was Kidman’s second marriage. She was previously married to Tom Cruise for more than 10 years before their divorce in 2001. They share two adopted children.
Although rumours surfaced about their relationship, the couple continued to make public appearances earlier this year.
They were seen in June at a FIFA Club World Cup game in Nashville, and just a month earlier, they walked the red carpet together at the Academy of Country Music Awards, where Urban received the ACM Triple Crown Award. The pair were photographed holding hands and kissing at the ceremony.
The reason behind their decision to part ways remains unclear.
