The Etsu Nupe and Chairman of the Niger State Council of Traditional Rulers, Alhaji Yahaya Abubakar has expressed his worries over the epileptic rainfall being experienced in this present rainy season.
He also appealed to Nigerians, begging them to intensify prayers looking for God’s mercy and steady rainfall for bumper harvests in 2024.
The traditional ruler had made the appeal and raised the concern in an interview in Minna on Tuesday, saying that the situation could only be salvaged by a divine intervention in light of impending drought.
What They’re Saying
The Niger State monarch had said;
“It is a slow-onset of disaster characterised by the lack of precipitation, resulting in a water shortage. Therefore, prayers are the only panacea to the looming crisis that may befall some parts of the country if bumper harvests were not recorded,”stated.
The Etsu Nupe also observed that the development would worsen the already terrible socio-economic situation the country was currently facing.
As a last resort, Abubakar explained that prayers were the most potent weapon to address any hardship, including insufficient rainfall.
