The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) has increased the pump price of petrol, starting right away. As of Tuesday, the cost of fuel at NNPCL stations in Lagos and Abuja has been changed to N1,025 and N1,060 per liter, respectively.
This change comes after earlier prices of N1,030 in Abuja and N998 in Lagos. Other fuel stations had prices between N1,150 and N1,200 per liter.
The increase in price is due to current economic difficulties, making life even harder for Nigerians who are already struggling with higher living costs. Since President Bola Tinubu took office on May 29, 2023, and ended fuel subsidies, the price of petrol has jumped from N145 to over N1,000.
Tinubu’s decision has worried many Nigerians, who are upset about the increased financial strain.
