The Nigerian Army troops on Wednesday, November 2, had killed three gunmen believed to have been terrorising Anambra State.
The three gunmen were killed during a gun duel at Umunze in the Orumba South local government area, Anambra.
According to sources, the gunmen had been wearing charms around their legs, necks, waists and hands.
One of the anonymous sources had also revealed that the three gunmen were members of the criminal gang that had ambushed a security patrol car and killed five soldiers in Orumba recently, and also in Aguta, Umunze, Oko and other notable places in the state.
Meanwhile, the Nigeria Police Force, Anambra command has yet to officially confirm the incident, but some senior police officers have come out to verify the incident.
According to a police officer’s report, the successful operation had involved a combined team of the police and military force and that it was carried out around 4:30 pm yesterday, November 2nd.
