Oluwatoyin Bayegun, a popular comedian and actor-turned-preacher, also known as Woli Arole, has expressed concern about current trends in Nigeria’s gospel music business.
He criticised how “hypocrisy, worldliness, and cabalism” had taken over the evangelical music field.
He observed that invitations for ministration are now determined by connections rather than being guided by the Holy Spirit.
The outspoken preacher remarked that distinguishing between a gospel music minister and a secular artist has become increasingly difficult.
In a recent Instagram post, he wrote: “The level of hypocrisy, worldliness, and cabalism in the gospel music industry in Nigeria is alarming. Oh yes! Invitations are based on who you know, not as the Spirit leads. Music ministers too—we can’t differentiate whether you’re a performer or a minister. It’s well!”
This is true
Cabalism indeed
Hypocrisy everywhere
Watch well
