With less than a month till the 10th Senate’s inauguration on June 13, some All Progressives Congress (APC) stakeholders in North West warned on Sunday that it would be a betrayal to the people of the zone if the Senate President is not given to them.
The APC stakeholders, who vowed to penalize Northern Senators who opposed the appointment of former Zamfara State governor Abdulaziz Yari as Senate President, argued that the party’s zoning of National Assembly leadership constituted a breach of trust.
The Northern Business Roundtable praised the All Progressives Congress (APC) National Chairman, Senator Abdullahi Adamu, for reversing the party’s alleged and inappropriate zoning decision, which was previously published by the leadership of the National Assembly.
The North West was caught aback by the alleged zoning declaration and the concept that such might be envisaged, according to the group’s spokesperson, Haj. Larai Kolo.
The North West is particularly concerned about Senator Akpabio’s behavior, according to the organization, “who has been going around saying that anyone who does not accept the purported zoning decision postulated by the party’s leadership is fighting Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the President-elect.”
