The National Youth Service Corps had on Monday, 13 March, warned the general public against unauthorized use of its uniform, tagging it as criminal and offensive.
The warning had been contained in a statement issued by the NYSC Director of Press and Public Relations, Eddy Megwa.
The statement had read in part,
“The management of the National Youth Service Corps is compelled to bring to the notice of the general public, the dangers of the unauthorized use of the NYSC uniform, logo, lyrics, and other intellectual materials associated with the NYSC program.”
“The NYSC remains an apolitical and neutral ground in the ongoing political and electioneering process and these unsanctioned materials continue to portray the NYSC in a bad light.”
“The management of the scheme therefore, will not hesitate to commence legal action against any person or group that contravenes the provisions of the NYSC Act as regards the use of the NYSC uniform. The general public should please be advised to take note.”
