The National Youth Service Corps, NYSC, has said that all eligible prospective corps members are expected to register for mobilisation with their National Identification Numbers, NIN, as from 2024.
This was part of the agreement during the meeting between NYSC Management, led by its Director General, Brigadier General Y.D. Ahmed, and the management of the National Identification Management Commission, NIMC, on Wednesday.
According to Brig. Gen. Ahmed, the collaboration with NIMC on corps mobilisation would boost the online registration process for NYSC.
He added that the NYSC Integrated System, which was established in 2014, had greatly assisted the scheme in its mobilisation process.
In her remarks during the visit, the NIMC Director General, Coker-Odusote, made assurances of the commission’s readiness for partnership between both agencies.
She lauded NYSC’s mobilisation protocols and its efforts towards shaping corps members for leadership responsibilities in its over 50 years of being established.
The NIMC boss said the synergy will streamline the entire mobilisation process and also address different issues.
