Richard Ofori, Orland Pirates Goalkeeper has expressed his desire to feature for Ghana in the 2022 World Cup Game in Qatar.
According to Ofori, the effort you put into your club will determine your level of performance for your national team in the World Cup, so that’s why Orlando Pirates is his major priority, As he aims to give his best to his club so that he’ll be able to replicate such performance in the world cup for Ghana if he’s called.
He also added that, if one is unable to perform well for their national club, it’ll be difficult to contribute anything meaningful to the national team in the world cup, knowing how very competitive the world cup is.
“The most important thing is Orlando Pirates because daily, you work with your team and the national team is based on what you do for your club,” Ofori said.
“I don’t think about the national team at the moment. The most important thing I need to do is to perform and do my best so that when they call me I am ready.
“If you are not performing in your club when you go there, mentally you are weak and the World Cup stage is the biggest dream of every young player to play there. At the moment I am thinking about the club and how I will help them achieve and be successful this season. That’s my ambition.”
Ghana shares Group H of the 2022 FIFA World Cup alongside Portugal, Uruguay, and South Korea. Unfortunately, Nigeria is unable to make it to the World Cup as they failed to secure their ticket to the tournament after losing to Ghana in the qualifiers.
