The old Ogijo-Sagamu Road will be rebuilt with help from the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), according to Ogun State Governor Dapo Abiodun.
Abiodun announced that work would start on Hospital Road in Sagamu within the next week during the official opening of the four-kilometer Oba Erinwole Road in Sagamu Local Council.
He expressed disappointment that previous governments had neglected the Oba Erinwole Road, even though it directly affected the socioeconomic life of the people, which, in his opinion, contributed to the road’s poor condition.
The governor promised that his administration will make sure that all local government districts benefited from the road project and said that the road was picked by the people based on their requirements.
In order to repair roads at the municipal level, graders and other road equipment would be sent to local councils around the state, according to Abiodun.
In his letter of goodwill, the Akarigbo and Paramount Ruler of Remoland, Oba Babatunde Ajayi, praised the governor for honoring his commitment and rehabilitating the road, calling it one of the state’s most appalling.
The monarch praised the current administration for bringing development projects to all areas of the state and promised that it will serve as a model for future administrations
