Usman Baba, the Inspector General of Police (IGP), has claimed that Kogi State Governor Yahaya Bello is a tenacious anti-crime warrior who made the state unfit for criminals to flourish.
He said the governor “leads from the front,” adding that he is a governor who “never raises the alarm” about not being in charge of security in his state.
The IGP praised the governor for acting as a true chief executive officer in terms of security during his visit to Kogi yesterday and referred to him as a trusted ally in the fight against insecurity.
Bello was thanked for her precautions regarding security.
In his speech, BELLO reaffirmed the readiness of his administration to thwart attempts by some desperate politicians to revert the state to the period of insecurity that existed before 2015 under the name of campaigning.
The governor stressed that his administration would not want insecurity to be smuggled into Kogi through the “booth of politics” and said that reliable intelligence at the state government’s disposal had revealed that certain political figures’ conduct could endanger the peace in the state.
He used the chance to express his gratitude and praise for the officers of the Kogi State Police Command, led by Edward Egbuka, as well as the personnel of the other security organizations present in the state.
Bello commended the state government and security services for working together to make security successful.
