Actor Osas Ighodaro has described her amazing journey to becoming a successful actor, despite her parents’ initial objections.
In a recent Pulse One-on-One interview, she discussed her childhood, upbringing, and desire to act.
Born and raised in New York, Osas underlined the significant Nigerian influence in her family, which formed her beliefs and identity.
According to Osas, her acting career began at age 13, when she was introduced to acting classes through a modelling school scholarship.
She stated that she fell in love with the profession right away and persisted in pursuing it despite her parents’ initial rejection, but her tenacity and strong will eventually led her to success in the entertainment world.

“I had to do a lot of convincing and sobbing, but I believe I’m also obstinate; I’m a strong-willed person when I want something.
“I had little self-esteem growing up, so they enrolled me in modelling school.
“I went through that experience, and the president of that institution granted me a scholarship to study acting.
“I wasn’t introduced to acting until I was 13, when I attended my first acting lesson, and I’ve never looked back since.
“I was like, “What is this? I want to pursue this acting craft. So I’ve never looked back since.
