It seems things are not looking good for the super eagles in their international friendly game against Algeria which is slated to hold on Friday in the Mohamed Hamaloui stadium, Constantine. As they’ll have to play the match without the help of Victor Osimhen, Umar Sadiq, and Semi Ajayi due to the injuries they sustained.
Osimhen suffered a hamstring injury in Napoli’s 4-1 win against Liverpool, and Sadiq picked up a major Injury, as suffered a ruptured anterior cruciate ligament and would have to stay off the pitch for 8 months after undergoing surgery.
As if this isn’t already enough shock for super eagles. West Brom defender, Semi Ajayi would also not feature for super eagles as he sustained an injury in West Brom’s clash against Wigan, and has already undergone surgery but would have to take six to eight weeks off the pitch, this was revealed by West Brom manager, Steve Bruce in a press conference ahead of West Brom match against Birmingham City.
“Semi has had an operation on his ankle, Bruce said in his press conference.”
“We felt it was the best forward, so he’ll be another six to eight weeks or so,” he added.
This isn’t too good for the super eagles match against Algeria, as they’ll be lacking in the center-back department, Kenneth Omeruo is also out due to Injury. This leaves them with Calvin Bassey as the only possible option.
