At the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations, Victor Osimhen, a forward for Napoli, thinks the Super Eagles have what it takes to win.
On the continent, the Super Eagles haven’t experienced success in ten years.
At the impending event, Osimhen urged his teammates to put up their best effort.
At a dinner held on Friday night at the team’s Abu Dhabi training base to commemorate his crowning as Africa’s finest player, the 25-year-old said, “The most important thing for us now is to go to Ivory Coast and win the tournament.”
“I have faith in this team; we have a lot of gifted players who can carry out the task. Hopefully, we will perform exceptionally well.”
With ten goals, Osimhen led the qualifiers in scoring.
This will be his second AFCON competition; he made his debut in Egypt in 2019 (Nigeria finished third).
