Osimhen scored a brace in Napoli’s 2-1 win over Hallas Verona on Sunday after the 23-year-old had been severely criticised following his team’s 1-0 loss against Milan last week, with some pundits questioning his striking skills.
Calendar told Radio Marte: “Sometimes some people open their mouths and say things without thinking it through but Victor is proving what kind of striker he is with his performances everyday.”
“In my opinion, we have not seen the best of Osimhen yet. With his potential, there’s massive room for improvement and he can only get better.
“Without being told, you can see his fighting spirit and commitment every time he’s on the pitch,” the agent continued.
One of such critics Calenda might have taken a broad swipe at is Igor Tudor, manager of Serie A side Verona. The Manager was asked if Osimhen was the best striker in Serie A on the eve of Sunday’s match at the Stadio Bentegodi. “No, no,” he said. “Vlahovic is better. Osimhen is stronger.”
Osimhen took the perfect revenge on the Croatian tactician by plundering the two goals which consigned Verona to their 10th defeat of the season.
Napoli are second in the Serie A table, three points off leaders Milan and Osimhen has scored 13 goals in 24 appearances this term.
