The First Lady of Anambra State, Mrs. Nonye Soludo has stated that society would face more harm if parents continue to be nonchalant with their parental responsibility.

Mrs. Soludo made this known in a speech in Awka. She stated that the disinterestedness of today’s parents would put society at bigger risk and decline in the Moral Standards of the kids.

She added that most social vices faced by the society which include, Armed robbery, Cultism, Kidnapping, Cybercrime, drug addiction, and violent agitation, amongst other vices, are results of irresponsible Parenthood because they have failed to instill the right morals in their children and wards.

Mrs. Nonye, who was recently appointed as an Ambassador of the War Against Drug Abuse (WADA) by The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), has said she is strongly against the incessant use of drugs amongst Students and would also continue to enlighten a lot of people on the dangers of hard drugs by engaging in social advocacies and other powerful avenues to educate people to curb the abuse of Drugs in Anambra state.

Mrs. Soludo expressed worry over hostilities witnessed in different parts of Nigeria and said it is time for parents to go back to the drawing board, while the government at all levels must do more, and show sincere efforts in tackling social deprivations.

She has also said that she has been deeply worried about the present security tension in the state because as a mother, she feels the pains too. She has reassured that the Governor of the state, Professor Chukwuma Soludo is working with strategic plans which will bear fruits in no distant time.
