Popular Lagos-based TikTok personality and livestreamer, Hamzat Habeeb, widely known as Peller, has been hospitalized after deliberately crashing his car during a live broadcast on the Lekki-Epe Expressway.
The incident occurred on Sunday during a livestream that quickly went viral. The broadcast, titled “RIP Peller,” showed the influencer driving alone in his newly acquired Mercedes-Benz while appearing visibly distressed.
During the livestream, Peller was seen making an emotional phone call believed to be with his girlfriend, Jarvis, amid reports of a possible breakup. His comments during the broadcast raised alarm among viewers.

At one point, he said, “I will use this car and have an accident right now,” before adding, “I’m scared. I’m scared.”
In another troubling moment, the TikTok star reportedly told the person on the call, “If you leave me, people will mock me… Thank you, I’m going to kill myself.”
Moments later, the livestream captured Peller driving off before ramming his vehicle into a stone barrier, resulting in severe damage to the car.
Another video that surfaced online showed passersby rushing to his aid at the scene before he was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment.
As of the time of filing this report, the severity of Peller’s injuries had not been confirmed. Photos circulating on social media, however, revealed extensive damage to the Mercedes-Benz involved in the crash.
The incident has sparked widespread concern online, with fans and social media users urging greater attention to mental health issues, particularly among content creators and online influencers.
Reacting to enquiries, the spokesperson for the Lagos State Police Command, Abimbola Adebisi, said she would provide further details after receiving a briefing from the Divisional Police Officer in the area. She had yet to do so at the time of this report.
