The Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NMDPRA) has been requested by the Petroleum and Natural Gas Senior Staff Association of Nigeria (PENGASSAN) to withdraw the license of marketers who hoard fuel and sell it above the national official pump price.
The oil workers’ request came in response to the ongoing fuel shortage that has made life miserable for most Nigerians.
The association also urged the Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NMDPRA) in a statement to require all marketers and retailers to offer the goods at the set pricing.
Additionally, it pleaded with the Authority to swiftly mobilize all of its personnel around the nation to oversee compliance.
The association issued a warning, saying it will not think twice to work with other stakeholders to prevent the continued exploitation of Nigerians.
According to the association’s most recent research, the country has enough PMS for more than 30 days, thus there is no justification for the current shortage and hardship facing Nigerians.
