Phoenix Suns Shut Down Warriors, Earn No. 8 Seed and Face Thunder in Playoffs. With their 111-96 win last Friday, the Phoenix Suns officially ended the Warriors’ journey and secured the last playoff ticket in the West bracket.
To lift Phoenix to the 8th position, Jalen Green had a great night, scoring 36 points with 8 three-pointers made. Right from the start, Suns took the lead, having a 33-15 advantage at the end of the first quarter, and that was the beginning for them.
Golden State had its moments and once got to five points difference, but the Suns still held the lead. The defensive pressure is what made the difference here; the Warriors were very limited in their offensive options due to the Suns’ defense. Stephen Curry’s scoring was 17 points, which is one of the reasons why he was very frustrated.

In the final minutes, Jordan Goodwin’s steal of Curry’s pass led to a fast-break layup, and shortly after that, his three-pointer on the next play helped consolidate the final score. This win grants the Suns a playoff meeting with the Oklahoma City Thunder.
There was a confrontation, and Draymond Green was sent off after a physical confrontation.
