Three Arrested in Connection with Mu’azu’s Death

Confirming the arrests, the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Haruna Abdullahi, stated, “Three suspects have been apprehended in connection with the death of the Gombe retired permanent secretary and are now in our custody. As soon as the investigation is completed, the suspects will be charged to court for appropriate prosecution.”

Gombe State. Governor Muhammadu Yahaya expressed profound sadness upon hearing of Mu’azu’s death. “The loss of a man who served his state diligently is a tragedy,” the governor said in a statement.

Kidnapping Rocks Kano Town Amid Investigation

While the police work to bring Mu’azu’s killers to justice, another crime unfolded in Garo town, Kabo Local Government Area, Kano State. Early Sunday morning, gunmen stormed the residence of Alhaji Auwal, a prominent businessman. Eyewitnesses reported that the attackers, numbering about ten, forcefully broke into the house at around 1:20 a.m.

Their target was the businessman’s eldest daughter, Zainab, a secondary school graduate. The kidnappers abducted her and escaped without leaving any clues. SP Haruna Abdullahi confirmed that the police have launched a manhunt for the suspects and are working tirelessly to rescue the young lady.

“The police have swung into action with a view to rescuing the victim and apprehending the fleeing suspects,” Abdullahi said. However, as of now, the kidnappers have not reached out to the family, leaving Zainab’s whereabouts unknown.

Rising Insecurity Sparks Fear in Kano

The recent incidents have raised alarm over the growing insecurity in Kano and neighboring states. From the murder of a retired government official to the brazen abduction of an innocent young woman, citizens are questioning the government’s ability to protect them.

As investigations continue, the public awaits justice for Atiku Mu’azu and hopes for Zainab’s safe return. These events highlight the urgent need for improved security measures to combat the rising tide of criminal activities.
