The Ondo State Police Command on Tuesday, April 11 arrested two suspects who reportedly stoned a 35-year-old man, Olorunfemi Tope, to death in Akure, the capital of the state.
Tope had been killed in a mob attack in Ijoka Area, Akure on Monday, April 10 after his Toyota Camry car allegedly crushed two people to death and injured several others.
The deceased had then been lynched while his vehicle was set ablaze by some people in the area when some fetish items were purportedly found in his car, raising suspicion that he was a ‘Yahoo boy’ aka fraudster/scammer.
Meanwhile, the state Police Public Relations Officer, Mrs. Funmilayo Odunlami, on Tuesday, April 11, confirmed that two persons had been arrested in connection with the mob attack adding that the suspects would be charged with murder and arson while appealing to members of the public to desist from taking laws into their hands.
