Police operatives have announced the sum of NN2.5 millionto be given to any individual with useful information about the hoodlums that razed the INEC office in Abeokuta South Local Government Area, Ogun State.
These hoodlums had oinNovember, set fire to an INEC office located at Iyana Mortuary, in Abeokuta, Ogun state’s capital.
According to reports, the hoodlums who were at least 8 in number had allegedly climbed the perimeter fence, jumped into the premises, and set the building on fire from the back.
Then after invading the premises, they soaked loaves of bread with petrol and threw them into the building at different angles to light up the office.
About 600,000 permanent voters’ cards have been reported to be burnt, including voting cubicles, ballot boxes, and others.
Lanre Bankole, the Commissioner of Police in Ogun State, had directed the State Criminal Investigation Department to immediately commence an investigation, with the sole purpose to bring to book, the devilish arsonists.
Meanwhile, to bring the hoodlums to justice, the Ogun State police spokesman, Abimbola Oyeyemi, had said that the state Command will be rewarding anybody with credible information that will lead to the arrest of the vandals with the sum of N2.5 million.
