Polymarket, the biggest prediction market using cryptocurrency, has seen a big disagreement among its users about a high-risk bet on whether former US President Donald Trump will create a new cryptocurrency coin before the November 4 presidential election.
According to recent reports, this bet has already reached over $50 million in trading, with people strongly split between those who think he will (“Yes”) and those who think he won’t (“No”). One person holds 8.3 million shares, showing a very large investment.
The “Yes” group believes Trump’s past connection with World Liberty Financial (WLF) supports their view. But the “No” group says that Trump’s link with WLF doesn’t mean he will directly launch the WLFI coin.
Polymarket has responded to this debate, saying that Trump’s public connection with WLF means the “Yes” side should win. Even though there are disagreements among users, the platform is set to pay out to those who bet “Yes.”
