After a fortnight of speculation, the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal, PEPT, has finally, just confirmed Wednesday, September 6, as the precise date for judgment, in all the three petitions challenging the announcement of Bola Ahmed Tinubu as the winner of the 2023 presidential election.

Umar Mohammed Bangari, the Chief Registrar of the Court of Appeal, had confirmed the date to newsmen on Monday, September 4, 2023.

Bangari, whose court is lodging the Tribunal, had commented that everything had been put in place to make certain, a hitch-free delivery of the judgment in all three petitions.

The three petitions were filed by the Presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic, Party PDP, Abubakar Atiku and his compeer in the Labour Party, LP, Mr Peter Gregory Obi, as well as that of Allied Peoples Movement, APM.

The Registrar, Bangari, had suggested that sufficient security has already been put in place and that only the summoned members of the political parties and the general public would be permitted to enter the courtroom. This is to prevent congestion and possible security breaches.

Bangari finished his signed statement by asking the interested members of the public to watch the court proceedings from their respective television sets.
