The appointment of new Commissioners of Police (CPs) for 11 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) has been approved by the Police Service Commission (PSC).

The PSC’s Head of Press and Public Relations, Mr. Ikechukwu Ani, announced in a statement released on Tuesday in Abuja.

The CPs are Julius Okoro (Benue), Tajudeen Abass (Delta), Oladimeji Olarewaju (Ogun), Taiwo Jesubiyi (Ondo), Mohammed Gumel (Kano), Haruna Garba (FCT), and Tajudeen Abass.

Other names are Aliyu Musa (Katsina), Hayatu Ali (Sokoto), Mohammed Bunu (Yobe), Garba Yusuf (Kaduna), Garba Ahmed (Zamfara), Romokere Ibiani (Bayelsa), and Garba Ahmed.

Ani reported that Dr. Solomon Arase, the PSC chairman, had urged the newly appointed CPs to show greater commitment to their jobs.

According to Arase, the new position is a call for increased dedication, creativity, and allegiance to the Nigerian people.

The PSC chairman reportedly encouraged the CPs to prepare and settle in as soon as feasible for duty before the national transition time, according to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN).
