Five police officers were slain on April 21 at Okpala Junction in Ngor, Okpala Local Government Area of Imo, and their deaths have been grieved by the Police Service Commission (PSC).
In a statement released on Sunday in Abuja, the PSC’s Head of Press and Public Relations, Mr. Ikechukwu Ani, said the commission had expressed sympathy to Mr. Alkali Usman, the Inspector-General of Police, and the Police Command, Imo.
He claims that the circumstances leading to the unprovoked murder of the officers who were in charge of guarding lives and property in the area severely distress the commission.
Ani reaffirmed the commission’s chairman, Dr. Solomon Arase, commitment to working with the Nigeria Police Force to continue supplying on-duty officers with the tools they need to protect themselves.
