Paris Saint-Germain have confidently secured their place in the Champions League semi-finals by winning 2-0 at Liverpool’s home ground Anfield, which combined with the first leg 4-0 aggregate victory results in them being the first French team to play three consecutive semi-finals of the competition.
Even though the home side looked very good and took the initiative in the beginning, PSG made a strong case for themselves with the very first attacking play of the game through Ousmane Dembélé who scored the first goal of the game with a fantastic curling shot midway through the second half.

Liverpool did what they could to get the equalizer with Mohamed Salah coming in from the bench but the PSG keeper Matvey Safonov got in the way every time. Dembélé scored in the very last moments with a fantastic goal, thus completing the win for the visitors.
On the other hand, Atlético Madrid were able to advance in the tournament despite being beaten 2-1 at home by Barcelona as they had won the first leg and continued their aggregate lead.
Barcelona got off to a quick start with Lamine Yamal scoring the opener and Ferran Torres then added a spectacular second to level the aggregate score. Yet Atlético retorted with Ademola Lookman whose goal decided the tie over both legs.
Barcelona controlled the ball and kept pressing in the second half but Atlético’s solid defensive work and a last-minute dismissal of Eric García dashed their hopes of a comeback.
As a result, PSG and Atlético Madrid go on to the semifinals while Liverpool and Barcelona have to concentrate on their national leagues after getting knocked out in Europe.
