British rapper Slowthai, real name Tyron Frampton, has been cleared of a rape allegation after a trial at Oxford Crown Court. The 29-year-old and his friend Alex Blake-Walker were accused of assaulting two women after a house party in 2021. Both men insisted the encounters were consensual.
After over 10 hours of deliberation, the jury cleared Slowthai and Blake-Walker of all charges. As the verdict was read out, the rapper burst into tears, while his wife, singer Anne-Marie, exhaled loudly with relief.
The allegations led to the removal of Slowthai from major festival lineups such as Glastonbury and Reading. Throughout his trial, he maintained the accusations were not true, describing the claims as “just not true.”
With the case finally behind him, Slowthai will likely now turn his focus to rebuilding his music career and spending more time with his family, which now includes his wife and young daughter.
