Asari Dokubi, an ex-Niger Delta militant, has asserted that Rivers State is not a ‘Christian state’.
Dokubo had made this controversial statemnet while reacting to Fubara’s remark on his assumption of office, that Rivers State is a full-fledged Christian state.
During a Facebook live, the ex-Niger Delta warlord bemoaned the governor’s statement, stating that Fubara had begun his tenure as governor of the state on the wrong footing.
According to Dokubo, such a statement went against the principles of inclusivity and religious freedom in the country, especially as the Governor lacked the authority to unilaterally declare the state a Christian one.
Dokubo had then further advised Fubara to retract the words as soon as possible.
