Liam Rosenior, the Chelsea manager, has confessed that he doesn’t have a clue when Marc Cucurella could be back after the left-back suffered a hamstring injury.
Cucurella had to be taken off halfway through Chelsea’s 2- 2 draw with Leeds United F.C. and has hence been ruled out of the midweek FA Cup victory over Hull City. At first, the injury was thought to be minor, but Rosenior confirmed that the Spaniard is still out, and he was unable to give an estimate of how long the recovery would take.

Chelsea will probably not risk the defender’s fitness for the league match against Burnley F.C., considering the bigger test against Arsenal F.C. at the Emirates Stadium is just around the corner. The London derby could have huge consequences for both the title race and the fight for European spots.
Unfortunately, after the international break, there will still be tough games against Aston Villa F.C., Newcastle United F.C., and Everton F.C., which means that it is crucial for Cucurella to get well quickly.
While he’s away, it’s likely that Jorrel Hato, the summer signing, will remain at left-back, and Malo Gusto is the one who could come to the rescue if necessary. With only a few points dividing the teams competing for the European spots, Chelsea will be praying that their defensive crisis is a brief one.
