Russian Attacks Kill Two Civilians in Ukraine’s Kherson

Russian forces claimed two more civilian lives on Sunday in Ukraine’s embattled Kherson region, hitting the area with a relentless wave of artillery, drones, and missiles. The tragic toll included an elderly man, killed by explosives dropped from a drone, and another civilian, a man who died under a barrage of artillery fire, according to the regional governor, Oleksandr Prokudin, who reported the losses on Telegram.

Kherson is split by the front line, making it a frequent target for Russia’s continuous and ruthless strikes. While Ukraine’s allies show support, the brutal reality on the ground seems to underscore an apparent truth: Russia has no plans to dial down its attacks anytime soon.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy, calling out Moscow’s persistent terror tactics. Over the past week, Russia reportedly unleashed over 1,100 guided aerial bombs, 560 attack drones, and about 20 missiles on Ukrainian territory. “Russia does not stop in its terror against Ukraine,” Zelenskiy posted on Telegram, lambasting the relentless strikes on Ukrainian towns and villages, where civilians bear the brunt of these assaults. Zelenskiy again appealed to Kyiv’s allies, urging them to intensify pressure on Moscow to stop the escalating brutality.

In the face of these relentless offensives, Ukraine’s air defenses have continued their determined efforts, managing to intercept 41 of 80 Russian drones launched overnight. While the barrage left no casualties or significant infrastructure damage, it’s clear the attacks are unyielding, straining both military resources and civilian morale.

This latest assault highlights a sad fact: despite all the condemnations, sanctions, and global appeals for peace, the bombardment in Ukraine continues. With each day, the call for a decisive response grows louder, but on the ground, the devastation and loss persist, highlighting an urgent need for stronger action against Moscow’s aggression.
