Number one player in the world, Aryna Sabalenka, has finished off another incredible winning streak this year with a triumph over Coco Gauff 6-2, 4-6, 6-3 to keep her Miami Open title and achieve the esteemed Sunshine Double.
The 27-year-old Belarusian is the first competitor after Iga Swiatek in 2022 to win the Miami and Indian Wells Open titles in the same year, thereby becoming one of the few legends in the sport, such as Victoria Azarenka, Kim Clijsters, and Steffi Graf, who have come close to the feat.

Sabalenka began with an explosive burst, breaking the first game and swiftly winning the first set. Gauff made a good comeback by saving the critical break points, then taking on the opportunity of her opponent’s error to set the match.
Nevertheless, Sabalenka took over again very quickly in the final set, getting an early break and keeping her cool to seal the victory when Gauff hit a backhand outside on match point.
This triumph takes Sabalenka to three WTA titles this year and adds up to 23 wins out of 24 matches, showing her great form. She only lost to Elena Rybakina in the Australian Open final.
Gauff is going to be ranked world No. 3 despite the defeat, which will perfectly conclude a very positive journey for her through Miami.]
