Veteran Nigerian musician Salawa Abeni has addressed recent rumours claiming that she had passed away.
In a video shared on her Instagram page, the singer dismissed the report, calling it “shameful.”
She expressed gratitude to her fans and loved ones for their concern while urging the public to ignore the false claims.
In the video, Salawa Abeni sang that anyone wishing her dead would “die before her.”
Accompanying the clip, the 64-year-old artist wrote, “I’m alive, hail, and hearty. Please disregard the rumours. Some blogs will do the unthinkable just to trend. It is rather shameful. The Queen is fine and doing very well.”
This comes amid a wave of false death reports targeting public figures, with others like Ebenezer Obey and actor Chiwetalu Agu also recently forced to refute similar claims.
